Between all the grinding, collecting, and microtransactions, it’s amazing we even had time to record this week’s show about the extremes we go to for some games. We’ve also got talk of Saints Row IV, Tiny Death Star, and (seriously?) more on Pokemon X/Y.

What’s better than staring at a GTA Online error screen? How about hanging out with creepy, wooden versions of Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe? We dish on Beyond: Two Souls, are seriously confused about Flashback (More Bros Edition), try the new Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies demo, and check in with Randy’s JRPG Corner, featuring Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl.
1 CommentWe pay our respects to the late Hiroshi Yamauchi by looking back at the big N’s history and sharing some of our favorite Nintendo memories. In the Hangover: We like GTA5 when it doesn’t make us torture people, and D.J. learns to sew in Final Fantasy XIV.
1 CommentBrace yourselves. It’s a full hour dedicated to the Grand Theft Auto V of video games: Grand Theft Auto V.
4 CommentsWe stick the fork of mercy into the Summer Backlog Attack, because it’s time for us to stop playing old games and start stealing cars. We also stick multiple forks (with varying degrees of lethality) into Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Paul’s still playing Diablo III? Oh, it’s the new Diablo III for Consoles. Also, we’re super excited for Watch Dogs but maybe it’s just because the Internet is a big place and we get lonely.
In the Hangover, Randy’s playing Killzone: Mercenary, which is a first-person shooter you play on a handheld, D.J. is unusually restrained about Final Fantasy XIV, and Paul is already sick of Grand Theft Auto V.
We’ve got your Spelunky-flavored Viewer Mail, and we announce the grand prize winner of the Backlog Attack contest! Is it you?
4 CommentsIs there any good reason to pick up an Xbox One or a PlayStation 4 on release day? The truth is out there! This week, we’re playing The Fullbright Company’s Gone Home (no spoilers!), Spelunky, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Jet Set Radio, and weighing in on the next-gen console release dates.
2 CommentsThere’s still some life left in those old consoles! We’re looking into the back half of 2013 for the current-gen games we most want to play this year (besides Grand Theft Auto V, of course), including Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Pikmin 3, Pokemon X and Y, and (finally) the new Phoenix Wright game.
In the Hangover this week, we’ve got our spoiler-free review of the new Walking Dead episode, 400 Days, and impressions of the Final Fantasy XIV beta.
As always, we’ve got your postcards and letters in Viewer Mail and we wrap things up with our weekly non-sequiturs in Last Call.
15 CommentsWe discuss the good, the bad and the ugly of MMOs! We offer suggestions on how to improve what we think is an important, but stagnant genre. Also: The Unfinished Swan, Hotline Miami and, yep—Borderlands 2 again.
