Weekend Hangover: St. Patrick’s edition

someecards.com - St. Patrick's day is like Valentine's day for people who love Jameson and bad decisions. Like us.

Ha, it’s funny because it’s true.

Before you drown your sorrows in a painfully un-Irish glass of green beer, why not listen to this week’s episode of VGH? Also, here are some drinks that are actually green for a reason.

What are the VGH crew drinking, err… playing this weekend?

Randy Dickinson (@randy_wrecked): With its sparse 2012 release schedule and the allure of my shiny new PS Vita, my 3DS hasn’t seen much action over the last few months. I dusted it off this week, however, so I could spend some time with Crush3D, Sega’s new 3D remake of one of my favorite PSP games of all time.

This weekend, I’ll be doing my best to avoid the St. Patrick’s Day Apocalypse that’s happening on the streets outside by staying in, playing Crush3D, and floating bottle caps on the head of Guinness.

Note for my fellow cheapass gamers: It seems that Gamestop is the only retailer that will be selling Crush3D. While I generally don’t advocate shopping there, it’s worth noting that they’ve dropped the price on the game from $35 to $20. If you’re desperate for something to play on your 3DS in the days before Kid Icarus arrives, this is definitely a great price for an addictive and devilishly fun puzzle game.

D.J. Ross (@metaly): I’m going to try Mass Effect 2‘s Shadow Broker mission and hopefully take a good chunk out of the main storyline (getting that much closer to Mass Effect 3), but at this very moment I’m actually playing Monster Hunter.

Paul Sandhu (@spaulsandhu): Journey. At least once.

Can’t. F-ing. Wait.

Matt Kernan (@mkernan): I’ll be continuing to try out Vita game demos and putting WAY more thought than is necessary into which Vita game I should buy next. If I’m feeling adventurous, I might finally start up Uncharted: Golden Abyss. I’m really hoping I can spend some more quality time in Mass Effect 3, but even if I can’t, I know I’ll be tapping the screen every few hours in Mass Effect 3 Datapad for iOS, just to mindlessly up my “galactic readiness” a little bit. Absolutely enthralling.
