Veteran’s Day, National Metal Day, Skyrim day, 11/11/11. There’s a lot of shit going on today.
So, here’s what we need you to do:
-Give thanks to those who have served our country and made great sacrifices to protect our freedoms.
-Watch This is Spinal Tap, especially if you’ve never seen it before.
-Go buy or rent Skyrim (if you don’t have 40-100 hours to spare, you’re permitted to skip this step).
-Take a moment to notice the instant when the clock strikes 11:11, 11/11/11 in your time zone (Whoops, too late!)
Now that we’ve gotten all the important stuff taken care of, what’s everybody playing this weekend?
Randy Dickinson (@randy_wrecked): With the release of Saints Row: The Third right around the corner, I’m reluctant to dive in to anything in my backlog that I won’t be able to finish by Tuesday. That said, however, I’m thinking about heading in to NYC on Saturday for Nintendo’s big Super Mario 3D Land launch event in Times Square, where I’ll be able to pick up a copy of the game a day early…and I’ll have occasion to wear a Tanooki Suit in public without being started at.
D.J. Ross (@metaly): More Battlefield 3 is in order, although I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about PixelJunk Sidescroller so I’m thinking about spending some time with that as well.
Paul Sandhu (@spaulsandhu): STOP THE PRESSES! The unthinkable has happened. Against my better judgement, I actually bought Skyrim. Pre-ordered it even! Will this game blow me away? GET HYPE?! Who knows, but I am really looking forward to playing Skyrim! WHYYYYYYYYYYY. Stay tuned. 🙂
Matt Kernan (@mkernan): With Battlefield 3‘s campaign, Arkham City, and Uncharted 3 out of the way and Saints Row: The Third showing up on Tuesday, I’ll probably try to tackle something a little more bite-sized. inFamous: Festival of Blood seems like a pretty good choice and I’ll probably play some more of Where is My Heart? (Haven’t heard of it? – check out Randy’s preview)
Pure, unadulterated Skyrim… all this weekend, and beyond! 😉
