Hi guys Patrick here. I asked my professor about his oppinion on the the question if publishers and developers have a right to the content a let’s player produces (the second question on the podcast, if the alcohol wiped your memories ^^) and we will discuss this when we have a lesson again in January. I’ll tell you what he said.

I keep going back and forth on this because Let’s Plays are in a tricky place between entertainment and editorial. At the moment I’m leaning toward giving the creators a small cut, especially if the show or channel is for for-profit entertainment and the game serves as the source for the host’s material.
