Weekend Hangover: ‘House Party’ edition

Microsoft has kicked off their ‘House Party’ promotion on Xbox Live Arcade this week, with the release of Warp from Trapdoor, Inc. From what I played of the demo, it seemed pretty fun. Check out the video I recorded when I checked it out.

On the Sony front, PlayStation Vitas (and games) are making their way into people’s hot little hands (including Randy’s!), with the ‘first edition’ bundle hitting this week.

Read on for a full rundown of what the VGH crew are planning to play this weekend.

Randy Dickinson (@randy_wrecked): I’ve been working through some of the games in my backlog recently: El Shaddai is done and I’m about halfway through Red Faction: Armageddon. The PSVita is proving to be a formidable timesuck as well, with both Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Escape Plan living up to my significant expectations.

D.J. Ross (@metaly): Break! Come on! Ooh!

Oh yeah! Huh!

And stop!

Scratch-o! HEY!

Rhythm Heaven!

Paul Sandhu (@spaulsandhu): Since I’m pretty much bedridden this weekend, I think I might play some more Amalur. Will this be the weekend that the game sinks its claws into my soul? Tune in next week to find out!

Matt Kernan (@mkernan): I finished up Shank 2 last week and I’m still somewhere in the middle of Singularity, but I haven’t played it in a while. Instead, I’ve been playing around with my new capture device that I bought earlier this week. I’ve already put it through it’s paces a few times, recording both the Mass Effect 3 demo and the Warp demo. Now that both Paul and I have these capture devices, we hope to bring you more fun video content! I also finally grabbed a copy of Rayman Origins (on sale for $20 at Gamestop this week!) too. Hopefully, I’ll have time to give that a whirl over the weekend with my wife. The game’s demo was her GOTY 2011, after all. If the four links that I’ve liberally sprinkled through here weren’t obvious enough, you should go click around our YouTube channel (and subscribe while you’re there)!
