In honor of the holidays and as a huge THANK YOU to all of you, we’re going to be giving away a handful of download codes for various games over the next few days. Without our wonderful listeners and readers, giving us feedback and sharing VGH with their friends, we wouldn’t have had such a fantastic first year. We’ve got something from PSN, something from XBLA, something from WiiWare, and something from Steam, so there should be a little something for everyone.
I don’t have any firm plans on exactly how I’m going to give them away, so your best bet is to follow us on Twitter, “like” us on Facebook, and add us to your circles on Google+. I may do a simple retweet giveaway on Twitter, a “like this post” giveaway on Facebook, etc. The only concrete info I have so far is that I’ll definitely be giving away one of the games by reading the code aloud on my Mini Hangover episode (which should be posted on Thursday, December 29th). Remember, the only way to hear those Mini episodes is to subscribe to the podcast, so hit up your favorite purveyor of podcasts and get subscribed!
Follow us on your social network of choice so you’ll know the minute the episode is made available.
From all of us here at VGH, Happy Holidays and thanks for all your continued support!
For those curious, here’s a list of what will be up for grabs over the next few days:
Battlefield 1943 (PSN)
Burnout Crash! (PSN)
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (XBLA)
Dungeon Defenders (Steam/PC)
Fluidity (WiiWare)
UPDATE #1 (12/25/11, 2:30 PM EST): The first giveaway is a simple re-tweet giveaway on Twitter. Go to this post and re-tweet it, or just copy and paste this into a new tweet:
RT this and follow @vghangover to enter to win @Battlefield 1943 for PS3! #VGHBF1943 http://t.co/3EVpw6SE
I’ll pick a winner from everyone who re-tweets it by mid-day (EST) on the 26th.
Congrats to @Chronorayven on Twitter for winning a copy of Battlefield 1943, and thanks to all who entered! Keep an eye out for more giveaways from us!
UPDATE #2 (12/27/11, 11:00 PM EST)
Congrats to @Pixolator on Twitter! They were the first to snag the code for Burnout Crash! that I read out loud on my mini hangover episode.
UPDATE #3 (12/29/11 11:30 AM CST)
There was a code for Dungeon Defenders on Steam read aloud on Randy’s Mini Hangover episode. One lucky listener has already redeemed it.
UPDATE #4 (12/31/11 8:30 AM CST)
To enter to win Fluidity on WiiWare, leave a comment on this post telling us what one of your New Year’s resolutions is. Be sure you include your email in the comment submission form (not displayed publicly). I’ll pick a winner this evening after 6 PM CST. Good luck!
