Weekend Hangover: ‘Making our lists, checking them twice’ edition

Editor’s note: If you’re reading this on Friday or during the day on Saturday, you’ve still got time to fulfill our biggest holiday wish: Send us your feedback for our year-end show!

VGH #33 introduced 2011’s Ultimate VGH Holiday Shopping Guide and as promised on the show, we’ll all be posting expanded versions of our wishlists here on the blog. Randy kicked it off today, so be sure to check out his list if you haven’t already. We’ll be posting the rest next week, so keep an eye out!

What are the VGH crew playing this weekend?

Randy Dickinson (@randy_wrecked): Saints Row is begging to be finished but the Starhawk beta has proven to be a compelling distraction. Also: Mario Kart!

D.J. Ross (@metaly): I’ll be killing myself most of the weekend finishing up the most requested episode of Lore in a Minute, but don’t be surprised if I manage to sneak in a few rounds of Battlefield 3 or Mario Kart 7. Keep an eye on the VGH Mario Kart 7 community (20-7403-9734-6418) if you’re up for some late night races.

Paul Sandhu (@spaulsandhu): I’m hoping to put some more time into Saints Row: The Third! Here’s hoping my days of wielding a giant purple dildo turn out to be FUN FUN FUN!!! 😀

Matt Kernan (@mkernan): I’ve got a holiday party with friends tonight and I know they own a Wii, so I’ll probably bring along my copy of Boom Blox Bash and nonchalantly suggest we play it a bit. Then on Saturday, we’ll be having our early Christmas festivities at my parents’ house since some of us will be out of town on actual Christmas. They have a PS3, so maybe I’ll bring my Move controllers, download Tumble, and nonchalantly suggest that we play it a bit. Essentially, I’m going to spend my weekend trying to talk non-gamers into playing stuff.

If I’m lucky, I can use Sunday to squeeze in some more substantial games, like more Saints Row or to finally start playing Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Also, maybe more Starhawk beta; I’m really enjoying it, but the totally-expected technical issues are a little annoying.
