Editors Note: I’ve been so busy lately, alternating between stuffing my face and being drunk that I never got around to posting this last Friday like I’d originally intended to. I hope you’ll forgive me.
These past couple of weeks have seen the high-profile releases of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Saints Row: The Third and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. At this point, almost all of the major fall titles have made their way to store shelves, so we gamers are just filthy with choices of games to play. SO MANY GAMES. Thankfully, this last stretch of the year is the perfect time to start working on all our leftovers.
Read on to see what the VGH crew have been playing lately:
Randy Dickinson (@randy_wrecked): I’ve sold my soul to the Retail Devil so the likelihood of me doing any gaming this weekend is fairly slim. On the bright side, I get to see The Cure in concert on Sunday night…so maybe I can squeeze in a few holes of Super Stickman Golf on my phone while I wait for the band to come on.
D.J. Ross (@metaly): I am surprisingly excited to play Zelda: Skyward Sword. Half of that is just because it’s a new Zelda game, but I’m also really curious to see how the motion controls work. What if this is the game changes everything?? Will Paul and Randy quit gaming forever???
Paul Sandhu (@spaulsandhu): This weekend I was out of town, WISHING I could finish Skyrim. Woe is the person that has to spend time doing family stuff…
Matt Kernan (@mkernan): My PS3’s Blu-ray drive shit the bed during a particularly intense round of Battlefield 3, but thankfully a friend was nice enough to loan me their old system for a while (and don’t worry, I’ve already ordered a new PS3). I still need to play inFamous: Festival of Blood, but I’ve mostly been raising all kinds of hell in Saints Row: The Third. In fact, we spent the holidays at our own house and a friend of mine even lugged his system over for some wicked same-room co-op action on Thanksgiving day. I’ve also been enjoying the opening hours of Skyward Sword – I just hit the six-hour mark and entered the game’s first proper dungeon.
What have YOU been playing? Drop us a line in the comments!
Aside from shopping and eating leftovers all weekend… More Skyrim. >.>
I’ve finished the main quest a couple of nights ago, so I’m going to keep myself busy unlocking the other trophies for the platinum. 😉
I kind of feel like Paul. So much family stuff and so little MHFU time 🙁
Good news is that I finally go some quality game time in on Sunday and have finally reached the higher rank village quests in MHFU which is quite the accomplishment. I’m also pretty close to the end of Batman AC (I think) as I just got past Ghul and Freeze.
As a sidenote I played a bunch of NCAA 12 with the family this weekend and I was surprisingly drawn in. /blush
