It’s E3 week and we can’t wait to hear all about the new Animal Crossing game!
We look back on 2017, a year sure to be remembered by history for its seemingly endless stream of quality video games.
After fulfilling our obligation to play games for charity, we’re back to playing games simply because we don’t know any better. Randy suffers through the new South Park and Agents of Mayhem while D.J. is Kazuma Kiryu’s vicarious drinking buddy in Yakuza 3.
We wrapped up Extra Life by getting murdered in the hot new PLAYERUNKNOWN’SBATTLEGROUNDSlike, Fortnite Battle Royale. Also, we learned how bows work in Torchlight, found (and were promptly banned from) our niche in Splatoon 2, and sneakily snuck through Horizon: Zero Dawn.
We survived Extra Life, phase 1 — now hear about everything we played! Splatoon 2, Night in the Woods, Super Mario Odyssey, Metroid II, and of course, Raft. Also, a brief stint with Superhot on PlayStation VR.
After a brief stint with the Destiny 2 beta, D.J. rocket slides all over the place in Vanquish and returns to his old face-stomping grounds in Yakuza Kiwami. Meanwhile, Paul plays Crawl while completely sober.
We’re chakkin’ out the Monster Hunter Stories demo. It’s as long as a lao-shan lung, as Grandpa Randy always says. We’re also chakkin’ on Titanfall 2 and Gunpoint, and following our Splatoon 2 teammates around to make sure they don’t get… chakked?
In the aftermath of the first Splatoon 2 Splatfest, we discuss condiment and dessert preferences. D.J. checks in to see if the Professor Layton series survived its transition to mobile, and the Backlog Attack begins with spooky Soma and creepy Cave Story.
We venture into Nintendo’s brave new vision of online multiplayer in Splatoon 2 — now with voice chat, sometimes! Also, the summer Backlog Attack begins!
Entering our 100th hour of Zelda discussion, we talk how to make open worlds interesting, how to identify a suspicious leaf, and how not to get banned from international flights. Also, what’s new in Splatoon 2 and whether that even matters.
