D.J. has more to say about Soma. Paul plays the wrong Fallout, but maybe he can mod it into the right one. Randy admits to using one of those virtual girl apps. But most importantly: How’s that new Assassin’s Creed?

So i played lifeline a long time ago, I guess when it first came out. I got totally thrown off when randy was calling the main character “she.” My Taylor was totally a guy. Well, I started playing again and so far no indications. I searched and saw that the developers said this:
“Thanks so much! We intentionally did not gender Taylor in the game or the marketing materials, because A) we don’t believe in gender stereotypes and we don’t want to even subtly reinforce them in our work and B) we believe that giving the player a silent choice over how they view Taylor really helps build immersion and adds to the player’s ownership over the experience of the game. It’s been really fascinating to watch different people talk about Taylor as a he/she in discussing the game, sometimes even flipping back and forth over the course of a conversation!”
I just played lifeline and wondered if they did that on purpose. Awesome!
What was your Taylor like?
I read it as a girl, but I think it’s because I listened to a description of the game with Taylor as a female before I played it. I’m so curious how I would of thought of Taylor on my own! Still enjoyed it 🙂
I thought of her as a girl the entire time!
