Been through too many boss battles to recount, but there has been a recent memorable boss confrontation that comes to mind:-

Dragon Age 2. Battle against the Arishok in the latter half of the game. Up until this point I had had some hard battles but nothing I couldn’t overcome with some hard work. Arishok raped me. He did so many times before I finally succumbed to toning the difficulty down from medium to easy. I was raped again (and again). In the end I had to cheap-shot the boss. You can face the boss either 2 ways, as a party which was certain death for me no matter what because even though you have 4 people he ends up having at least that number and they are almost as tuff as him, or you can do 1v1. It took me just over an hour of running around a room and doing specials then running to recover etc. to beat the dude.

Memorable. Didn’t have another boss battle in that game half as hard. It’s like I did something bad in that game that gave that certain boss and extra 100 strength points or something 🙁

Also I agree with paul, all games should have difficulty sliders and an emergency get me out of here button. 😀

Haha I remember you mentioning that boss battle before!

On my first play through I just talked my way through it. I was experiencing the infamous glitch where if you used Isabela and removed her from your party enough times, you’d end up being debuffed to the point where your attacks would be so slow that you couldn’t beat even the simplest of encounters. I was so pissed off that I just let the Arishok have her and didn’t even have to fight him! I am a jerk. -_-
